The College of Saint Mary is a Catholic women's university located in Omaha, Nebraska which was founded by Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy and an early 18^th century Irish Catholic woman. Her founding vision for the institution was that nothing enriched and served a society more than the careful education of women. College of Saint Mary offers nursing students a program which prepares them for entry level practice in nursing and a Practical Nursing Certificate in just one year. For students to earn their practical nursing certificate, they are required to complete 35 credit hours of major program courses along with 7 credit hours of supporting courses. At the College of Saint Mary, practical nursing students will need to complete Principles of Anatomy and Physiology with a lab, Introduction to Practical Nursing, Medical-Surgical Practical Nursing, Maternal-Child Practical Nursing, Integrating Practical Nursing Concepts, Nutrition, Practical Nursing Clinical and other related courses. Students must pass all courses in order to be eligible for a certificate.

Students should have a maintained at least a GPA of 2.0 in any prior coursework has been completed at MCC.
Completion of Test of Essential Academic Skills with a minimum total score of 50 percent or higher. The exam needs to be taken within three years of the application deadline. TEAS test can only be taken twice in a span of three-years.
Submission of an application packet fully completed; this requires meeting with an academic advisor in order to verify checklist has been satisfied. Signature from academic advisor is needed.
If applicants are accepted, they must have the following:
- Copies of immunizations including MMR, Hepatitis B, TB, Varicella, Tetanus. Should have current flu shot.
- Current CPR certification
- Medical exam form
