Becoming an LPN in Baltimore

Last Updated/Verified: Nov 24, 2021

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), licensed practical nurses comprise 13% of all nurses in the city. This figure may grow over the next 10 years as an aging population seeks more access to healthcare.

Most LPN programs take one year full-time or two years part-time, though there is some variation. Students will blend clinical work, lab work (sometimes clinical simulations), coursework, and classroom study.

All three Baltimore LPN programs are approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
