Last Updated/Verified: Jun 27, 2024

Henderson offers one educational program for those seeking to become professional licensed practical nurses. This pathway makes a great career choice right now, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). This government department publishes a report on the state of employment every two years. The last report (May 2021) claimed there were 2,040 practical nurses operating in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, of which Henderson is a part. That comprised roughly 10% of the total number of professional nurses. The BLS expect a huge demand increase for nurses through the next several decades.

Students can expect to complete their LPN program in up to 15 months full-time. Part-time, that total is up to 30 months. Programs usually blend classroom and seminar study with lab work, simulated healthcare, and real-world work placements.

The organization responsible for approving programs and nursing licenses is the Nevada State Board of Nursing.

  • Anatomy / Physiology
